Betsy has spent the few short years of her life as a victim of the dairy industry. She's had her babies taken away and the milk meant for her calves given to humans instead. Can you imagine how sad she must have been? Like all mothers, Betsy yearned to provide care and love to her calves and in place of her stolen babies, she stepped in as surrogate mother for goats, sheep and any other abandoned baby that needed her warmth. When Betsy came up for sale, a kind woman named Brandy knew she needed to save Betsy and get her to a sanctuary where she could live the rest of her life free from harm. Miraculously, the farmer agreed to give Betsy to us, and on December 17, we welcomed Betsy to her new home. But the story doesn't end there! In February, Betsy gave birth to a beautiful calf named Oliver, and this time, she'll get to keep him forever.
Betsy will be able to watch her little boy grow up, to instill in him all of her motherly wisdom, to love him unconditionally forever.
